Michelle cooks up a treat for Working Lunch

The good people at Working Lunch are firm supporters of home business and Michelle Paice of My Secret Kitchen was the lucky lady to be chosen to appear on Tuesday’s show to talk about what running a home business means to her.

Michelle signed up as a My Secret Kitchen consultant in May 2008. Before becoming her own boss she was a development manager for food company, Campbell's, and then had a break to bring up her two children.

We ask Michelle, what does being a consultant involve?

“Running your own business, carrying out food tasting parties in host's homes, including preparing the food in your home beforehand (about 1 hour in total, and parties 3-4 hours) WI groups etc, and I have a stand at food fairs, summer fairs, pamper evenings and so on!" 

Michelle plans to keep sales high (she currently ranks as one of the top ten in sales for MSK) and add more consultants to her team. We’re sure the TV appearance will have a positive impact on sales. But how was the experience for Michelle? 

“It was nerve racking, not every day you get a camera crew round your house, but I thought back after it was all over, and yes I did really enjoy it. It was more relaxed than I thought and stop/start filming, which helps to calm the nerves, no second takes required!! Not sure about seeing myself on telly though!”
