Marketing man, Adam Brooks, got in touch last week to introduce us to a new site and service that ‘gives the help you need with day to day tasks without the cost, risk and hassle of employing someone.’ – sounds perfect for home businesses, we thought.

Intelligent Help

The company has been created by Barnaby Lashbrooke, a successful entrepreneur who is still just 27 years of age. Adam Brooks is the company’s main marketing man and explains the service on offer:

“Our UK based team can take care of everything from taking and making phone calls to dealing with your emails and chasing late payments.

We act just like your own team, getting to know your business inside out and going the extra mile to take care of the things you don't have time for or don't want to do.”

Here's some of the things the company can do:

  • Deal with your administration
  • Take telephone calls
  • Sort and deal with emails
  • Manage your diary
  • Handle paperwork, bills and invoices
  • Make meeting and travel arrangements

We haven’t tried the service and it will be interesting to see how service and prices compare with hiring a VA (virtual PA) but TimeEtc.com certainly represents a helping hand for the home business owner who needs to be super-efficient on time management.

Comment: I'm a Time Etc client and have been for almost 2 years now. I run two small businesses so to be able to delegate all my meeting set up, travel arrangements etc to Hannah (my PA) frees up my time no end.

Plus my clients like the fact that there is always someone they can call to check my availability, send them files, check where I am etc etc.

I would say that this change in my working practice is the main reason that the income in my consultancy business has grown by some 30% in the last 12 months. This isn't just about efficient use of time it's also about ensuring that there is a regular flow of 'new business' meetings and conversations ... something that I tend not to do when I'm flat out busy and which therefore leads to a boom and bust cycle of activity. I'm very pleased to be changing that!
