Could outsourcing be effective for your home business?

In his most recent e-news, Paul Smalley of Paper Mountain Solutions outlines the benefits of outsourcing and asks, If outsourcing is so efficient, why isn't everyone doing it?
A question for you
We have spoken plenty on Enterprise Nation about the benefits of outsourcing … and also how business owners like to remain in control of all business functions, for fear of others getting it not quite right.
Paul suggests you ask yourself a couple of questions to figure out what’s best for your business.
- Are you making the best use of your time?
- How much income could you generate if the day to day aspects of the business could be handed to someone else, allowing you to focus on the strategic direction of the company.
It is human nature to remain within our comfort zone and to hold on to all tasks but when it’s evident it’s not in the best interests of income generation, consider taking a hard look at outsourcing.
The ultimate reason outsourcing works is down to time management. The business owner ‘controls and directs’ a resource tailored to his/her requirements rather than being controlled and directed by the business itself.

Comment: Micro outsourcing is the future.
But in the future we wont call it that - or anything else - we'll just call in business (or maybe Business 2.0 - or 3.0).
'There's a VA for that' is becoming a catchphrase - there seems to be one for almost anything.
Entrepreneurs will love it - it favours us - and others ignore it at their peril.
You will no more be able to run an efficient and viable business without it than you can now without learning how to delegate!

Comment: Yay! My catchphrase 'There's a VA for that ...' becoming famous *blushes*. Thanks Barry!
I agree, the recession has forced a lot of business owners out of their comfort zones in order to survive. Perhaps that's why the Virtual Assistance industry is now becoming one of the fastest growing trends. Delegating takes you out of your comfort zone (only until you feel the benefits).
Virtual Assistants are in the right place at the right time to 'catch' these business owners and throw them an administrative lifeline. We're the best kept secret weapon for small businesses!
